Love the vanilla yogurt with caramel syrup. Banana split very delicious too. You can't go wrong when you want a cold treat at The Dairy Barn in Athens. Plenty of free parking. An outdoor dining area complete with two restrooms. I highly recommend The Dairy Barn as the best ice cream restaurant in Athens.
The snacks and desserts are top shelf. Using Mayfield's Ice Cream, this is the spot in the summer. They're not open during winter. Fried Bologna. BLT. Fried errrr'ythang. The burgers are not it for me, but there's enough greatness that I love it and recommend it. Dairy Barn. Old fashioned sodas and sweet treats.
Highly Recommended‼ They have the most flavors to pick from when it comes to Dairy Treats of anywhere around. Dole Whip Pineapple & Dole Whip Creamsicle are just two of our favorites. Have gone by here for decades and never been disappointed. Always worth your while for a quick dairy treat, and they also have fast-food as well. Sit outside under the covered patio or get it to go! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
we were in Athens on other business and drove past The Dairy Barn on our way home. It was too late to try it out at that time so we returned another day and do not regret a thing! It was wonderful. Felt the prices were very reasonable and their servings were pretty good size. We had their soft serve ice cream. It was delicious and creamy and we loved it. The staff was great, friendly and efficient. They were taking orders and getting them out like pros. We would whole heartily recommend you give them a try. We will be returning soon to try out one of their other treats.
Very tasty treats and good service at the walk up window. Reasonable prices. Covered seating outside was a bit warm since the building blocked the airflow. Worth a visit!

We were driving by and decided to stop by after seeing cards flowing into the street. (full disclosure, we did not have ice cream) all in all the burgers we ordered were really not as bad as people here are making them out to be. It was built well and had fresh ingredients....and for the price point...makes it worth it. imho
The Dairy Barn is Amazing, we have dairy free children and boy do they come through with dairy free yogurt. We also buy in bulk for parties and this made my girls day having a large amount of dairy free ice cream at their parties!!!! It's always spotless and people come from all around for the delicious desert that will always make you smile
Best local family owned ice cream place in or around Athens, Tennessee. Just good old fashioned service, ice cream and snack foods with covered outdoor seating.
House special, Good! Fast service, great selection and easy to get to. The drive through was surprisingly fast. Everything made fresh.
